After 3 great season with the Flyers affialtes the Phila-rondack Phantoms the 23 year old was sent to Carolina during Day 2 of the draft. Over his seasons with the Phantoms Matsumoto put 81 goals and 92 assists. Matsumoto is hailed for his great playmaking ability and his fast skating. Jared Ross will probably play a roll simalar to the one he played on the Flyers, as a up and down AHL/NHLer. However with the jump that former small guys have seen in Atlanta Ross's oppurtunities are greater. Ross is 27 and in his Phantoms career he put up 85 goals 158 assists in 328 games. Ross also has played in 13 NHL games with 3 goals and 2 assists.
