The aren't many 7th rounders who weight more than the overall number they were drafted but big Oliver Lauridsen is one of them. Drafted by the Flyers in 2009 Lauridsen is a big Danish defenseman listed at 6'6" 228lbs.
Lauridsen just finished his sophomore season with Saint Cloud State University and at 21 he could go pro. Playing a total of 71 games in his college career Lauridsen has totaled 6 goals and 7 assists. Clearly a stay-at-home defenseman.
Just one look at Lauridsen and you'll know why he's called the Great Dane. At 6'6" Lauridsen is a towerring defenseman but mobility could be an issue in the future. However he is known for being an aggressive and very physical opponent.
Lauridsen looked solid at Flyers development camp this past week. He can still use some seasoning in the AHL but Lauridsen definatly has the tools to make an impression in the big show.
