After the trade of Andrej Meszaros it looked like the Flyers had given up on their RFA defenseman Braydon Coburn. However just about 15 minutes later the Flyers announced that the 24 year old has been re-signed. Cobi will make 3.2M in each of the next 2 years.
Now the Flyers have their possible top 6 defenseman set with Pronger, Timonen, Carle Coburn, Meszaros and Bartulis. All expect Bartulis is set to make over 3M next season. This could mean the Flyers make a move on Offense with Powe and Carcillo yet to be signed with 2M left towards the Cap.
Since being acquired from the Thrashers Coburn has been a key part to the Flyers defensive corps. Cobi is capabable of playing big minutes and has been key in playing special teams all throughout his tenure in Philly.
