Jeff Carter traded to Columbus for Voracek

Around 4pm news broke that the Flyers had traded their star center Jeff Carter to the Columbus Blue Jackets in a trade that was rumored to happen for months.

Paul Holmgren made his first of many deals moving Carter and his 11 year $5.272M contract.

Voracek is set to be a restricted free agent making $1.25M last season. The Flyers can protect him by filing for arbitration. With the 8th overall pick the Flyers will likely go after a defensman.
