ECQF Game 5 Updates: Holmstrom in, Carter and Pronger out

The Flyers will host the Buffalo Sabres in the fifth game of the Eastern Conference Quarter Finals. The series is up for grabs with only three games left and each team winning 2 of the previous four games.

Once again Boucher will get the nod, he has four goals in over eight periods this postseason and holds a record of 2-1.

Andreas Nodl will miss his second straight game after suffering a facial wound in game 3.

Chris Pronger will NOT play tonight after much speculation that he would be playing, Pronger has been out for over a month now with a broken hand. -tp

Jeff Carter is listed as day-to-day after colliding with Tyler Myers in the first period of game 4, he did not return. There are rumors that he has a sprained MCL (Ligament in Knee).

To replace these injuries the Flyers will dress Nik Zherdev in place of Nodl once again. Danny Syvret for Chris Pronger. And the A'dack Phantoms's Ben Holmstrom. Homstrom played against the Ottawa Senators in March, where on his first shift he rocked big Ottawa forward Smith. Holmstrom is a pest and will play aside Betts and Carcillo.

Here's how the Flyers lines look without Carter:
Hartnell Briere Leino
Zherdev Richards Versteeg
Powe Giroux Jvr
Holmstrom Betts Carcillo

Meszaros O'Donnell
Timonen Syvret
Coburn Carle

Boucher Leighton

Oddly enough in both Flyers losses Buffalo lone goals have been scored vs the pairing on Matt Carle and Danny Svyret. Despite them not being line mates.

Kimmo Timonen told the media yesterday that the reason he snapped was due to the constant spearing of Nathan Gerbe. -CSN Philly

Tonight's start is at 730 on CSN.
