Claude Giroux has developed into a force on both ends of the ice over the past year. The former QMJHL star became a scout's worst nightmare as he has developed. Once a lightweight scorer, Claude has developed into a two way forward out of nowhere.
His skating and playmaking may over shadow his defensive awareness and grinder-esk mentality. Giroux's play embodies what a center should be and undoubtedly follows the theme set by captain Mike Richards.
Giroux opted to stick with the team that drafted him by signing a four year deal for clearly lower than what he could have received if he had hit the open market. Truely a selfless player and hopefully a career-long Flyer.
