As said in the title i may be jumping the gun on 20 year old Alberta Native. Why am I jumping the gun? Dowling has yet to sign a contract and is on a tryout basis with the Flyers. However Justin Dowling has had a great showing during the Flyers rookie camp.
The 20 year old center just finished his 3 full season with the WHL's Swift Current Broncos putting up 78 points (32 goals, 46 assists) in 72 games. What may be even more impressive are his 19 penalty minutes.
Justin Dowling is 5'10" but is almost everywhere on the ice due to his speed. Dowling possess a great ability to dangle but also the knowledge to know when to pass the puck away.
If Dowling does sign with the Flyers after this camp (Keep in mind last year he attended Penguins development camp) he will have to get a little stronger. No doubt that Dowling is fired up playing on a tryout basis but he's shown great potential.
